Founding partner and NXTSTEP Family Law attorney, Kristina Sexton was awarded Young Professional of the Year at Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce’s Thirteenth Annual Small Business Awards.
The young attorney and eight contenders demonstrated leadership and philanthropic qualities that set them apart from other young professionals in the community
Sexton’s age is no indication of her accomplishments. In the last year, Sexton and her two-year old firm have dominated North Alabama’s local legal scene.
In May of 2018, Sexton became a registered mediator with the Alabama Department of Mediation. Sexton is twenty-six of 900 lawyers with registered lawyers with the Madison County Bar Association to earn this title. Prior to earning this designation, Sexton and her partner Coby Boswell won the 2017 Alabama Bar Association’s Firm Award for their pro bono work and Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce’s 2017 Emerging Business Award.
Sexton is highly active with the National Children Advocacy Center, serving as a Court Appointed Juvenile Advocate and supporting its local initiatives such as the Legal Food Frenzy which collects money and non-perishable goods to feed local school children during the summer months.
Sexton is also licensed at a Guardian ad Litem, representing children in the Madison County, Morgan County, and Limestone County areas.
She is highly respected among her colleagues and by her clients.
